Soda….The Liquid Killer

I found a couple of good articles which I've posted below on the delightful effects that soda can have on your and your child's health. I'm hoping that you all have pretty much eliminated soda from your families life's or at least extremely reduce your intake. The average consumption of soda per person in the United States is 50 gallons. That's pretty scary. I did some quick math and the average soda has 160 calories per 12oz. If a person were to drink 50 gallons of soda in a year that would be 533 cans of Coke or roughly 85,000 calories. Which works out to be about 24lbs a year they are putting on just from soda. If you drank just one soda per day that would be roughly 16lbs of extra calories. Imagine if you eliminated all that soda from your diet. Now.....who wants a Coke?
