Our new policy is to let you choose or design the WOD for your birthday. Doug celebrated a birthday last week and picked today's workout. He went with the CrossFit Total because he's currently training for a power lifting competition in February. Power lifting competitions, Olympics lifting competitions, 5k's, Marathons, obstacles courses, etc are greats ways to test yourself against your peers and to put your efforts in the gym to work. Don't worry about how much you can lift, how fast you can run or if you win a medal. You'll learn more from watching others and the competitive atmosphere will help push you to set new records. Overall, you will add to you knowledge base and this will help you become a stronger, faster athlete. Anyone signed up for or interested in competing in any events? There are rowing competitions, lifting events, runs, CrossFit games. Do some searching and see if you can find something to compete in. Post thoughts to comments.
Update: Here's a fun event we can all compete in.
RunAmuck Festival May 1 Let's try to get some teams put together for this.
Doug sets a PR on the deadlift at 310lbs during the CrossFit Total.
